Compound Mint is made by Shlomie. It started as a YouTube channel asking one question — “$1M today, or…?” — and grew into this site because the comments kept asking for the math.
Everything here is built on one idea: little moves, big money. Small, boring, repeated decisions — automating $200 a month, skipping a $500 car payment, starting five years earlier — beat almost every clever trick.
The calculators are free and always will be. If you want one money move a week, join the newsletter at the bottom of any page.
Who runs Compound Mint
Compound Mint (compoundmint.com and the @compoundmint YouTube channel) is a DBA of Seller Splash Inc., a New York company. It publishes free money calculators, “$1M or…?” money dilemmas and plain-English guides to compound interest, investing monthly, becoming a millionaire and Coast FIRE.
How we do the math
Every number on this site is calculated, not guessed. Unless a page says otherwise we assume an 8% average yearly return (US stocks have averaged about 10% before inflation and about 7% after over the long run), monthly contributions and monthly compounding, with no taxes, fees or inflation. The S&P 500 calculator uses real calendar-year total returns (dividends reinvested) as published by S&P Dow Jones Indices. Each worked example is re-checked against the calculator before it goes live. Spot a mistake? Tell us and we will fix it.
